Theresa Lukasik

Assistant Director of Religious Education

Born in Chicago, the youngest of seven children, Theresa played sports and enjoyed gardening during her early years. She attended Loyola University in Chicago thinking she’d eventually teach history, but instead was drawn toward studies in theology. She continued at Loyola, where she earned a Masters in Ignatian Spirituality and Spiritual Direction.

Theresa recalls attending St. Joseph for the first time in 2012. “I cried, because I knew I was at home,” she said. At the time Theresa was involved in various ministries, including spiritual care at Harborview Hospital.  She later became involved with RCIA and faith formation. Her previous job prior to Religious Education at St. Joseph was with Maryknoll and the Ignatian Spirituality Center.

Theresa wanted a job where she could learn, study, grow and pray—a perfect fit for her position at St. Joseph. “I want to let others know they are loved unconditionally,” she confided. “I hope to contribute to this already vibrant faith community.”
