St. Joseph has been offering Camp Give Back since the summer of 2018, partnering with Julie Tilghman. Camp Give Back is a week-long service-learning camp for rising 3^rd-8^th graders. Throughout the week, students participate in community service and reflection.  Participants will develop empathy for those who are disadvantaged and finish the week feeling empowered to make change in their community.  

Reflection:  Each day will begin with a quote from a social justice advocate.  We will begin and end each day reflecting on how we have lived out each day’s message.

Service: Participants will ride Metro buses to local non-profits, and volunteer for approximately 3 hours each day.  Possible sites include WestSide Baby, St. Mary’s Food Bank, St. Francis House, Jubilee Women’s Center, Earth Corps and St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank.  Our home base will be St. Joseph Parish.

Fun: Each day will include arts and crafts and play time.

Cost: The cast of the camp is $295 per week. This covers snacks, bus fare, a donation to each non-profit, staff stipends, and a T-shirt.

Registration: There are 3 steps to register!

2. Print and fill out the Camp Give Back Archdiocesan Permission Form and the Camp Give Back Participant Information form
3. Mail or drop off these forms to the parish.
