We are delighted to announce a special project coming up in the new year: we are hosting a Musical Theater Production of the life of Sr. Thea Bowman! This original script by playwright, actor, and singer, ValLimar Jansen will be performed, in part, by repertory company members from Los Angeles, who will be joined by local choir members and actors. 

“I Will Live Until I Die” is a groundbreaking musical about a groundbreaking woman. Sister Thea Bowman (1937-1990) was a trailblazing African American Catholic religious sister, educator, musician, and liturgist. She was a powerful voice for social justice and a passionate advocate for the integration of African American culture into the Catholic Church. Her story is one of faith, hope, and resilience, and it is now being brought to life in a new musical.

A story that will inspire and uplift you. The musical, "I Will Live Until I Die", tells the story of Bowman's life from her childhood in Mississippi to her work as a religious sister, teacher, musician, and liturgist. The show is full of beautiful music, heartwarming moments, and important messages about faith, justice, and equality.
