Anti-Racism Committee

The St. Joseph Parish Anti-Racism Committee is a committee of the Faith Justice Commission, formed in the summer of 2020. In addition to supporting educational programs like JustFaith groups, Jesuits West CORE and the Racial Justice Book Group, the Committee organizes advocacy and action, like the Say Their Names project and the May 2021 service for Racial Solidarity at St. James Cathedral, as well as the all-parish and school Equity Workshop with Scott Winn in May, 2022.

The Committee took the lead in writing the Parish Land Acknowledgement and sponsors events for Native American Heritage Month, Black History Month, and Sr. Thea Bowman Day (March 30th, 2023.)
