Godparents

Don't Forget the Candle!

What a great honor it is to be asked to be the godparent of a child.

If your godchild is being baptized at St. Joseph Parish, we ask for your participation in one class prior to the Baptism. This may be done at your home parish or here at St. Joseph. If you are not a parishioner at St. Joseph, please have your home parish send a confirmation letter of the following:

• class participation
• verification as an active parishioner
• you are 16 years of age or older and have received the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation

We also welcome those who are seeking classes for a baptism taking place at another parish. Feel free to email baptism@stjosephparish.org for the schedule and how to sign up.

For parents: only one Catholic sponsor is required for your child. You may also have other non-Catholic sponsors who are interested and committed to supporting the faith life of your child.

It may be hard to find a godparent for your child at this time. If you would like some help in choosing a godparent, you may contact one of our team members through our office. Please contact us at baptism@.
